Happy Friday everybody! I hope you all have an amazing weekend to look forward to! No matter if you’ll be (rather prematurely) spring-cleaning your house, entertaining friends at home, knitting a new sweater or improving your yoga skills, you probably want to hear some good music whilst doing this all. Here are some of my favourite new music tunes of the moment to get you going. Listen, dance, enjoy and celebrate the weekend!
Iggy Pop feat. Josh Homme – Break Into You
I wouldn’t call myself an Iggy Pop fan, but obviously love his classic songs ‘Lust for Life’ and ‘I Wanna Be Your Dog’. This new single from Iggy Pop’s upcoming album Post Pop Depression (out on 18 March) is quite different from the other stuff I know from him, but it’s my favourite new tune at the moment!
The Last Shadow Puppets – Bad Habits
Super group The Last Shadow Puppets are releasing their new album Everything You’ve Come To Expect on 1st April. Their new single ‘Bad Habits’ sounds promising!
Julia Holter – Feel You
This is an unusual ‘happy’ song for me, but it makes me feel good and makes me think of a sunny Sunday morning with breakfast in bed. Bliss! 🙂
‘Feel You’ comes from Julia Holter‘s album Have You in My Wilderness, which was released at the end of last year.
PJ Harvey – The Wheel
‘The Wheel’ is the first single from PJ Harvey‘s new album The Hope Six Demolition Project (out on 15 April). This album was recorded last year at Somerset House where Polly Jean and her band set up their studio for a month. Fans and curious visitors could witness the recording process first-hand.
Album tip: Scanner & Anni Hogan – Scanni
Last music tip for today’s post is the new album by my hubby Scanner and dear friend Anni Hogan. Their new album Scanni was released on 26 February and features an amazing array of guest artists including ex-Kraftwerk member Wolfgang Flür!
