A very special guest post by my hubby Robin Rimbaud (aka Scanner) on the forthcoming film screening of 'Tony Conrad: Completely in the Present' at Tate Modern on Friday 14 October 2016 and an interview with the director Tyler Hubby.

When photographer Claude Crommelin moved from Amsterdam to Shoreditch (East London) in 2008, he was overwhelmed by the amount of astonishing street art in the area. Motivated by the short lifespan of most of the works he bought his first digital photo camera and started to document the vibrant street art scene. In 2013 he published his book 'New Street Art' which was completely sold out in just three months. Read more about Claude and his book in the interview and also how you can win a copy of his recently re-issued book!
808 State, who take their name after the Roland TR-808 drum machine, are regarded as pioneers of acid house. They have been touring with their defining album 'Ninety' for the last year and last June I happened to be in the Netherlands when they played a show at W2 in Den Bosch. Before they were about to play an exciting live show, band member Graham Massey kindly agreed to do an interview with me. Here is part 1 of my interview with Graham!

Being an acclaimed film critic, writer and broadcaster, Kim writes for magazines such as Empire and Sight & Sound, published a series of novels for which he's been awarded several literary prizes and has written non-fiction books on [...]
Having been able to interview a Hollywood legend and Oscar winner must have been the highlight of my blogging career. It was my honour to speak to special effects maestro Brian Johnson. While it was never Brian’s intention to work in the film industry, he worked on some of the most significant science fiction films [...]
Early this year I discovered playful stencils of jesters in the streets of Shoreditch. No-one seemed to know who the artist was so I decided to post photos on Flickr and named the album ‘Who’s the new joker in town?’. Shortly after this, fellow Dutchie living in London Claude Crommelin, respected photographer and author of [...]
In May 1999 Tyrone Walker-Hebborn opened a five screen cinema in the East End of London using a former derelict cinema, built on a site with a long history of entertainment in the East End. Having worked in the family business of roof working, he had no previous experience in the cinema industry, but he did have [...]
A clever new film has hit the cinemas this weekend and I was lucky enough to see the preview screening of The Double at the BFI earlier in the week. After the screening of this intelligent dark comedy, director Richard Ayoade joined the audience for a brilliant Q&A that was absolutely hilarious. I was impressed [...]
In 2008 they were suddenly there: De Staat, a Dutch rock band of young musical prodigies. I remember 'the band' was so hyped up because its history made such a great story. The band originated as a solo project of singer Torre Florim who started writing the debut album Wait for Evolution as a teenager and [...]
